Eleven Liberty loving patriots showed up at Creek's Edge Farm early Saturday morning despite the ominous forecast of storms in the area. The early morning hours were filled with light banter while we learned to navigate the various puddles left by the overnight rains. With a steady breeze filling the cool morning air, the box of hot hands were a welcome sight to keep those tigger fingers warm!
After Cleveland delivered a great First Strike of the Match, everyone was primed for a day of History and Marksmanship. Our red coat target was quickly identified by our shooters as a worthy adversary, and shortly after, the Marksmanship instruction began post-haste!
We were honored to enjoy the attendance of one of our "border raiding" instructors from GA Leadslinger66! A big Huzzah!, and thank you for his assistance at this clinic! In addition to the always welcome Border Raiding, we also welcomed to the Appleseed Family a brand new Orange Hat!! Josh, who took the forum name Shooter Mcgavin, answered the call of Liberty, and picked up his bucket to help us bail out our great ship, America!! Thank you Josh, for your willingness to forward our mission, and I look forward to working with you on the line!
This weekend's shooters were some of the safest I have had the pleasure to instruct. We didn't have a single safety issue, and everyone was extremely respectful and attentive. During lunch, Maximum Effort gave the Second Strike, and shortly after, Special_K gave an excellent IMC. Throughout the afternoon all 3 positions were taught, and our shooters soaked up the instruction and applied the knowledge they received. Special_K sent our Regulars back to Boston with the Third Strike, and we ended the day hoping for clear weather on Sunday.
Sunday the rain had cleared out nicely, but of course the wind did not. After our 10'x 20' canopy decided to take flight, all the pop ups were dropped in an effort to mitigate any further lift-offs.
On Sunday we had a thorough review of our instruction blocks for the shooters, and we enjoyed Wiley Coyote give probably the best IMC review ever to echoed through the Tennessee Valley. We were proud to have two Riflemen scores! Huzzah! to Jim with a 215, and then 235! Norm with a 211, and Matt T. with another 211!! Lucas delivered several Rifleman scores (229, 231, 233) despite extensive equipment issues, and he rounded out his weekend with a high Distinguished score of 246!!
I would encourage everyone to continue your journey, and we'll see you again soon on the line!
On Sunday some of our instructors took the time to Requal several times in style!
