Title: Cherokee County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Training Center
Post by: MinkaVerny on December 16, 2025, 05:31:38 PM
Has any attempt been made to hold Appleseed events at the new Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Training Center?  It has a rifle range that goes to 200 yards.  I imagine most of you remember that both rifle and pistol events were held at the old facility before it was abandoned?  It would be really great to have a facility close by metro Atlanta.

Unfortunately, the old facility was turned into an investigative/ drone launching center. I can not express how sad I was to have to leave that range. The one they moved to has an agreement in place with the neighborhood behind that there will be no shooting on the weekends. So... we are unable to run any events there.  :(

That's really too bad.  Yes, the old facility was pretty much ideal for me.  Maybe you could talk River Bend Gun Club into hosting Appleseed events?

We'll have several events on the schedule soon at the Floyd County Wildlife Club in Rome. Hopefully you can make it to a few of those.

Riverbend has said no to us multiple times, unfortunately, but we will soon have more events on the board for Rome and Griffin.
