Does anyone have any experience with the CoolFire Training System?
CoolFire Trainer (https://coolfiretrainer.com/products/glock-47-coolfire-trainer-barrel-generation-5)
It uses CO2 and a replacement barrel to give you actual recoil when you are dry practicing. Seems like a good system, and it's impossible to load ammunition in with the system in place.
I tried a handful of things like it, if not that one. I'm too cheap to get something that'll require the CO2 replacements.
If you've got money to burn, they did what they promise.
It's not the money to burn part... it's the "no place to go shoot that's easy and convenient". I try to train each day, and actually shoot once a week. This would/could/might help with split times and shot to shot times, as well as reloads.
I don't know if you need everything on the link that's suggested, but it's somewhere near $400 to $750. We have different stories we tell around the country. Down here in GA I've heard about an Olympian that just dry fired for a few years and then earned a gold medal.
Again, I'm cheap. I also have the luxury of stepping outside my house and shooting - which I don't do often enough. I don't dry fire enough either and it shows. Good on you for the discipline.
Mike,
I know a guy who has one of these. He says they are okay.
It's not really going to help with split times, the recoil impulse will be pretty different.
The guy I know told me that it's not really worth it for the price.
