What a great event!

We had a good group of shooters. The weather was beautiful on Saturday. Sunday was beautiful to start but, we had quite the rain storm in the afternoon. The range facility, as always, was first rate and a great place to work an event. The Instructors were excellent. I'm so lucky to work with such fantastic people.

Shooters ages ranged from 13 to 53, most were first timers at Appleseed. After shooting the Hits Count target, we started on the basics. The group worked hard and the shooters were very attentive. Everyone improved greatly and we managed 7 AQT's, even though the rain slowed us down a bit.

Congratulations to everyone for working so hard. We had one new rifleman, Patrick with scores of 210, 218, 220 and 226. He certainly earned his patch. Several shooters got so close with scores in the 200's, they promised to return and try again.

The event went very well. All shooters should feel good about the improvements that they made. A big thank you to the best crew of instructors in Appleseed.  Everyone did a wonderful job and the teamwork was amazing.  Check out some pictures of the event below.

That was a great weekend.  Our shooters were engaged and made huge improvement over the two days as evidenced by the difference on the Redcoats from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon.  We went from two shooters proving effectiveness at 300yd and 1 at 100yd on Saturday morning to 3 shingle hits, 2 shooters effective at 400yd, 2 at 300yd, 1 at 200yd, and 1 at 100yd, and 2 cleared Redcoats on Sunday afternoon.  Our shooters (and instructors) fought through the rain on Sunday to complete 7 AQTs.  True perseverance.

Congrats to Patrick for his display of fine shooting skill earning him a patch.  Two other shooters, Dimitri and Christian, were so close at 205 and 203 respectively.  A little dry fire practice and maybe some minor equipment tweaks and you'll be there.  Everyone else, keep practicing and we hope to see you on the line in Homestead or Hollywood next time.

And finally, thank you to the Homestead Training Center for their support of Project Appleseed in South Florida.
