I want to thank our local boots on the ground, Hobbs, for helping us get onto the property. This was our second event back at the range. I look forward to more as the program grows in Southern IL. What a great place to hold events.
He had a great crew and exceptional participant at this event. Bonnie took one for the team so the event could happen. With a crew determined to help her score Rifleman, she did not disappoint anyone. During each string of fire, one instructor would pair up and provide one thing to focus on during that string. By the end of our second AQT on Saturday, Bonnie was a Rifleman with a score of 216. HUZZAH! 100% success. Most of the volunteers got a chance to requalify too.
We all got a chance to work on our points of instruction and in general spend time working on those perishable skills of coaching and shooting. By the end of the second day, we had some progress checks completed and even an SBiT. Time change had the crew concerned about getting home before it got too late. We ended when everyone, especially Bonnie, said they had enough shooting for one weekend. After everyone was done, we had 4 instructors requal, and Bonnie turned in another 211.
I want to thank the crew of Potato_Hole, TheGunslingingGamer, EchoCharlie, ChuckA, JHB, and Myrradah for helping make this a successful weekend. We all had hours-long drives to get to this event, and back home. I appreciate your dedication to our mission.
Huzzah, had a great time with everyone and appreciated getting some time on a shooting mat to knock of some thick cobwebs.
Not a bunch of pictures as a result but here are a few.
