Title: Ramseur, NC, Home Range Oct 19-24 RBC
Post by: gunjunkie on November 02, 2025, 08:49:19 AM
I want to thank the RWVA range staff and all those that took the time to work on the range earlier this year. Great job!
I also want to thank all the instructors that made this event such a success, without you these events couldn't happen.
We had beautiful weather all week, cool in the AM and warming throughout the day.
We started the RBC in the classroom telling history and explaining the Appleseed mission. We have a 12:00 restriction at the home range each Sunday, respecting the church located just down the road. JustKim kicked things off with an awesome strike one detailing the events of the day and what led up to the colonist's swift reaction when the alarm was sounded. Strike two was presented by Bulldog14 highlighting the harsh choices that had to be made that fateful day and the days that followed. After presenting strike three, and the history for the day complete, we moved to the firing line.
We had one shooter, Phillip, that had never attended an Appleseed so we gave him the full Appleseed experience. The first two days were close to a standard two day event with two shooters shooting a rifleman's score. We had one incognito instructor shoot an impressive distinguished score of 241, great job Justin, Timothy also re-qualified with an impressive 229. Congratulations!
After getting some equipment fitment issues resolved and giving Phillip the fundamentals needed to shoot longer distances, day three and four were spent on the KD range learning the skills needed to shoot out to 500 yards. JustKim did an outstanding job giving everyone what they needed to be successful out to 500 yards and a few proved their skill hitting a 10" steel.  Everyone had two opportunities to hit the Morgans shingle and two of eight were successful and joined Morgan's rifleman company.
Timothy, shooting a 22LR was successful out to 400 yards and although he didn't score he did get very consistent hits, impressive.
Day five we spent on the pistol range led by Mrs Waky. We did reveal two new Pistoleer™s, Timothy with a 217 and Justin with a 214. Congratulations to both.
We finished the week with a mini IBC giving our orange hats an opportunity to advance and they did a great job. Congratulations to Lucky3, LadyJ and MissusGage on your promotions.
I would like to give a special thanks to Waky and Mrs Waky coming all the way from Florida to help out. Thanks for all you do to ensure the program's success.
It was an honor being the shoot boss for this event and a pleasure meeting everyone. I hope to see you all again on the Appleseed trail very soon.
Pictures to follow soon.

This was a great event!  There is nothing quite like an RBC - six days of history, shooting and camaraderie!  Filled with opportunities to shoot all disciplines.  It was such a pleasure to work with all of the amazing instructors and shooters!!

Congrats to all who scored Rifleman and Pistoleer™™™™™™!  Also congrats to those who earned promotions: Lucky3 and LadyJ!  A special congrats to MissusGage who requalified Rifleman with HER rifle and earned her Purple Rifleman patch AND took an orange hat!!

The range looks awesome!  It is obvious that those who attended the work days did indeed put in a lot of work!  Also those who continually spend time maintaining the range -- what a great group of guys!

The RBC was a great success. A great group of people showed up in the name of liberty 🗽. I learned that if you pay attention and apply what you are taught, your scores will greatly improve. (Isn't that right Kim?)

I'll echo Kim's comment,  the range is looking great, with more improvements in the works.

Thanks to everyone for making the week a success. I look forward to working with you all again.
