What a great weekend of stretching the legs on the little 22LR round.  We had 12 shooters come to show their skills out to 200 yards at the Deer Creek Conservation Club.  What a great range for just this exercise.  The weather could not have been much better either.

We started our weekend with introductions and a brief overview of our goals for the event.  After a great safety brief, we brought out the rifles and endeavored to join the ranks of Morgan's Riflemen.  We had 2 people make their mark on Saturday with that first shot.  Congrats to Ethan and Rick for this accomplishment.

We started the flow of instruction and worked on getting good zero at 50 before starting the scoring portion of the day.  We moved the targets out to 100 and repeated the process adding in a refresher of the sitting and transitioning.  Scores were looking good.  We moved the targets out to 150 and talked about how wind impacts the rimfire round much more.  Sighters made it look like this was easy stuff.  After scoring the targets at 10, we moved them to 200.  Man, those things got far away, and small.  Sighters here became a little more challenging, but this group was up to the task.  Once we had good data, we shot for score.  Our first AQT revealed one score of 41 and 3- 39s.  We shot the AQT coming back to 50 and had another shooter break the 40 mark with a 42.  Congrats to Jeremy G and Greg.  We wrapped up the day with a message about making a difference in our own way to save this nation.

Everyone came back for day 2.  After a quick review and safety brief, we went after a chance to join Morgan's men again.  Basil and Austin both were up to the task.  Congrats to both of them.  We had a request to do additional sighters after the shingle shot as some folks changed equipment.  After our first AQT of the day, Jeremy G, Greg, Basil, and Ethan all scored 40 or higher.   We talked about Range Estimation, the second challenge of a Rifleman.  An exercise to practice ranging skills and learn about our personal equipment proved very fun.  Of the items on the board, the jackalope was consistently the item that folks were closest to in terms of distance.  Fabulous prizes were awarded to the winners.  We shot a couple more AQTs, to which Ethan turned in requalifying scores.

I want to thank each of the participants for attending and sharing their weekend with us.  It was an honor to send time together.  A huge THANK YOU to Deer Creek Conservation Club and Gene for being our local boots.  I look forward to getting next year's events on the schedule soon.

I had an awesome crew of EchoCharlie, JHB, Traveling man, FireAxes, and Red Ranger helping with the event.  It was great seeing each of you work on your Line Boss skills.  Thank you for coming out to make this a great event.
