Air Capital Gun Club of Whitewater Kansas once again graciously hosted Project Appleseed's Wichita area rifle clinic. ACGC extends use of their smallbore range to us for the weekend and we're very grateful for their cooperation and partnership in this endeavor.
On October 4 & 5, Project Appleseed – Kansas joined with fourteen folks wanting to learn about their heritage, both historically and marksmanship. Five were new to the program with the others veterans of other clinics.
The weather was near ideal with maybe a bit too much warmth in the afternoon but that was offset with the sustained 30mph breeze. The wind moderated the temperature some but caused havoc with the target line and pushed the shooters around a bit. The shooters learned about fundamentals, patience, and persistence.
By the second AQT, Bill checked in with a nice 217 claiming his Rifleman patch. On Sunday, Troy had joined in with a 219 followed by Oliver with a 212 and on the last AQT of the clinic, Tom scored 215. Several others were knocking on the door and Oliver nearly requalified with a 209.
There were five Redcoat "Hits count" targets cleaned.
The Parker's Revenge target was used as a group exercise on Sunday. Amongst the four "teams" ambushing the Redcoats, Spencer, Dakota and Makenzie outscored the others. They were awarded Project Appleseed decals and trigger training devices for their efforts. Congratulations on your teamwork!
