This weekend, we had a great pistol event. We had seven people show up on Saturday morning. The weather was warmer than normal for an early October day, with sunny skies and a high of 81. Everyone came ready to listen to the instruction and history of the pistol. We had a great start to the morning, beginning with instruction and practice targets. We had a few people who had to zero their sights on their pistols. Otherwise, everyone was making good progress with coaching. During lunch, ProgressNotPerfection gave a rousing version of the First Strike. The rest of the afternoon was spent practicing the different stages of the PQT, and we got one PQT in before the end of the day.
Sunday started quickly, and we reviewed the safety rules and the six steps of firing a shot. After that, we spent more time with PQTs, and the Big Dot Little Dot challenge, and two of the winners walked away with a box of 9mm ammunition as a prize provided by the NRA. During this day, with the excellent coaching, people saw some significant improvement in their scores. In the end, we got two new Pistoleer™s. And two shooters who earned the Immortal 400 patch, one of them never shot a pistol ever until our event this weekend. Huzzah!

Had a wonderful time learning from excellent trainers and the other participants were great and inspiring too. This won't be my last event. I'll keep going until I get that patch!
