8 Patriots came together at the East Range Sportsman's and Conservation Club in Aurora MN for the first Rimfire Known Distance event at this venue. Many thanks to our gracious hosts for their continued hospitality O0
There was a forecast for rain on Saturday, but it never happened and we enjoyed perfect weather conditions all weekend. This Shoot Boss was educated that the mosquito is the state bird of Minnesota (credit to TheDestroyer). The are immune to normal bug spray, but that didn't seem to bother our shooters.
We started off with with an overview of expectations and a review of IMC showing the average come-ups for 22LR. Everyone had equipment that would perform, so it would be up to the shooters.
After covering how to shoot the AQT and the importance of recording data our shooters assembled for an opportunity to mark Morgan's Shingle. Sadly, we had a squad of cooks.
We then focused on shooting sighters and gather data while shooting our first AQT along the way. Right out of the gate we had TheDestroyer score 40 (bolt action), Mathulu scored 41, and Attist led the way with 42 (also with a bolt action). Congrats to our new RKD Riflemen.
Huntsman77 joined their ranks scoring 41 on the 3rd AQT to close out Saturday.
Sunday was a bit cooler in the low 50s. After more instruction covering the 3 challenges of a Rifleman we got to work on a practical exercise on range estimation. Everyone did a great job applying the lesson correctly estimating range.
Now it was time to attempt Morgan's Shingle again now that the shooters recorded their data. 4 of the 8 marked Morgan's Shingle!

The wind was more prominent on Sunday, variable direction and gusting. Despite their efforts, no one else was able to qualify though many were scoring in the mid to high 30s. A rifleman persists! You will get it next time.
I appreciate the hospitality extended to me from the MN cadre. I hope this was a fun weekend and a learning experience for everyone.
We had some folks taking pictures, so please upload pictures O0
Thank you to ArmyVet for the great weekend. Thank you to the AS leadership team for investing in the MN cadre.
