It was hot and humid both days. There was a real need for a lot of water both for drinking and for the two new Riflemen that scored 210. We had 5 total Riflemen one was already an Orange hat. We added one new Orange hat with a score of 227. That makes son father and grandfather all instructors. Working on Mom (she was one of the 210's) she said she needed more time. We had a special quest for both days. I love hearing the stories that Fred has to tell. He also gave the flag tour and added to the end of the days benediction. Thank you for coming out. Every student showed massive improvement form one hitting only 3 shoots at the 100 yard target on the Hits count target to Riflemen score of 224 on the first day. Another student missed the whole target on Sunday (new scope) and cleared it at the end of the day. We shoot the KD targets at 100 and 150. To the surprise of some the 15 shooters only had 3 misses at 50 and 4 at 150.
I have to say that the instructors we had were some of the best I've got to work with. They not only told the history they new the history. Teaching both the young and there parents how to shoot a 4 MOA group wasn't hard for this team of instructors.
As we always stress safety, this group had not one safety issue.
Thank you for a great shoot.
It was a wonderful Appleseed weekend. It was my privilege to work with the participants. Outstanding safety was demonstrated all weekend, everyone was engaged and attentive. It is very enjoyable to work with a great group. I saw solid improvement all weekend!!!
I hope everyone will remember Joseph Warren's instructions to us all:
Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves. — Joseph Warren March 6th, 1775
Additionally, the home range is beautiful, early morning directly across from the entrance looked like something out of a story tale:
