This weekend, we held our annual pistol event at Ben Lomond Gun Club in Ramah, CO! We greatly appreciate the support of Ben Lomond Gun Club in hosting our events. The weather was about as good as it gets in August on the high plains!
As we kicked off out event, we moved quickly through instruction as everyone on the line was shooting well. We reviewed grip and stance, 6 steps of firing the shot and NPOA and worked on fundamentals in the morning. We talked targets and covered magazine changes and honed the fundamentals with precision shooting before lunch. Groups were looking really good by this point.
We heard riveting accounts of the events of April 19th, 1775 over lunch and jumped right back to controlled pairs, target transitions and one handed shooting. Everyone was progressing well, so at that point, with everyone feeling confident, we posted the first PQT of the weekend! As the dust settled from it, two Pistoleer™s emerged! Brian finished PQT 1 with a very respectable score of 216 and Thomas scored a 218. We took a quick break and posted another PQT. Afterward, we had two more Pistoleer™s! Lynette and Dave both showed us they knew very well what they were about by shooting the score. We shot one more PQT and wrapped the day up with a hits count target. Both Thomas and Brian finished very strong, clearing that! The difference between the morning hits count COF and afternoon hits count COF was apparent, and everyone made big improvements.
Thanks to all of our students for coming out for this event, we really appreciate your teachable attitudes, enthusiasm and positivity throughout the day. All of those things make a difference, and it showed in your pistol marksmanship.

my son and I had a great time! You and all the other instructors did a great job prioritizing safety but also giving us a list of drills and skills to work on. We left with a much greater appreciation for the sacrifices made to secure our rights. Thanks again to you and the other instructors for your patient and inspiring coaching, and we will be back!
