We had a very rewarding pistol clinic in Coeur d'Alene this past weekend! With the exception of a very brief and unexpected downpour on Sunday, the weather was excellent. Although it was hot, it was also breezy, so as long as everyone stayed hydrated it was just about perfect.
We had eight shooters, of whom two signed up as beginners. All were very safety conscious, which we instructors appreciate greatly. The event ran very smoothly - thanks to Mr. Clean, Snow Snake, led, and Ambi for helping to run the event, and to Tom (kid RM) and Abby who showed up early with Ambi to help set up the range as well as to clean up afterwards. Congratulations to Tom who re-qualified as a Pistoleer™ several times, as well as to Abby who earned her Pistoleer™ qualification for the first time. Special congratulations to Barry, who not only re-qualified, but also shot a score of 240 to earn his Distinguished Pistol Shooter award!
Thanks to Ambi for doing the research to find some very interesting pistol-related Revolutionary War history that he shared with us on Sunday morning. I will look forward to hearing that story again in the future.
We look forward to more events at Fernan Rod & Gun Club next year, where we already have the larger bays reserved so we will have the capacity for more shooters.
Here is the award photo for Barry. We didn't have a Distinguished Pistol Shooter patch on hand, but this target certainly earned it! We'll get it to you ASAP.
Tom requalified as a Pistoleer™ several times, and is knocking at the door of a Distinguished Pistol Shooter score.
Abby shot her first Pistoleer™ score this weekend. I'm sure it is just the first of many more to come!
Good for yoU Abby,HUZZAH,HUZZAH HUZZAH! ^:)^
Congrats to a great shoot. 3 qualifying scores including a distinguished score at a Pistol Clinic is awesome!
This was a great class, big thanks to P7, Mr. Clean, Snow Snake, LED, and Ambi! Also, congrats to Abby, Tom and Barry for showing the rest of us how it's done with some impressive PQT results. I'm off to buy a bunch of practice targets so that I can be better prepared to next year's class.
