What a weekend "up north" - Met four awesome Appleseeders who came out to work on their pistol marksmanship.  East Range Sportsmen's & Conservation Club hosted us and provide a spectacular views and range.

We started out Saturday doing pistol familiarization and safety, moving quickly to grip, stance, six steps, NPOA, and working on each area to make our groups as small as possible but with quickness.  After lunch we added in malfunction drills, transitions, controlled pairs, one-handed shooting and then brough it all back to two handed precision shooting.

When we hung the first Pistol Qualification Test (PQT) the participants were ready and I'd say eager to see how they'd do.  I can't remember and I didn't write it down, but on the first or second PQT Gyle was able to shoot his weekend best of 223.  Corral, Cliff and Justin all showed improvements to their groups and they had some decent scores.

Sunday brought a quick refresh of the teaching points and safety instruction and we shot the first PQT of the day fresh after the hits count.  If I remember correctly this got both Cliff and Corral their best score of the weeekend at 181 and 171.

Justin continued to work on various issues that we were able to point out and work with - adjusting grip, brightness of his optic, and somewhere along the line we tripped his competitive nature :)  - After we'd shot a few PQTs and drills, we spent the early afternoon just having safe fun - running big dot little dot a few times just to focus on something else for a few mintues.  Gyle and Justin were neck and neck on both of them.

Then we shot the final PQT of the event - as we moved through the stages, Justin's stages kept looking good and in the end it showed he scored Pistoleerâ„¢ with a 210 on the dot.

Well done to each of you.

Cliff - next year will be your year - I saw a lot of improvement over last year and I look forward to seeing what your next event brings.
Corral - well done - first event, lots of shooting, awesome improvement and teachable attitude.
Gyle - well done - thank you for the banter and keeping me on my toes.  Also thank you for letting me shoot a few rounds through your TTI.

Thank you to all that came out and spent your weekend improving yourself.

As always, a big thanks to our host range - East Range Sportsmen's & Conservation Club.  I look forward to the 200yd Rimfire KD event next month.
