Title: 2025.06.2122 Appleseed - Denver - Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club
Post by: codefogey on June 23, 2025, 11:17:27 PM
A hot, hot event in the Rockies!

Temperatures in the high 90s on Saturday and the low 90s on Sunday tested our ability to hydrate as well as to pack into the small shaded area to do instruction. This was a long and hot but successful event.

Much gratitude to Skyline HFC for the use of their first-class facility, to Shoot Boss codefogey for running an excellent event (as per usual) and to the CO cadre for their contributions to the cause.

Conditions were less than optimal on Saturday due to the sweltering heat, but with shade provided by the pistol house, properly timed breaks, and continuous hydration there were no medical incidents. Employing judicious self-care is not selfish.

Kudos to the shooters for their solid performance and their regard for safety.

If you're interested in stretching your .22LR rifle out to 100 yards, we'll be back at Skyline HFC for a one-day Rimfire Know Distance shoot on Saturday, Sept 27. Slots are still available!

Looking forward to seeing you on the line and stay frosty!
