Title: Leaving Texas
Post by: PaleRider on May 21, 2025, 09:19:48 PM
Texas Cadre,
It is a bittersweet event when you need to leave one group of friends and colleagues and move on to new adventures. I have retired from the federal civil service, and we've made the decision to relocate back home to Missouri after 18 years here. Our parents are there and getting older, and we needed to think about where we were going to hang it up for retirement. That will be Rolla, Missouri, my college town.

I can't express how grateful I am, and how much I appreciate each and every one of you with whom I've worked. I've learned so much from, and I've had an enormous amount of sheer fun working with all of you here in Texas. If you're in the central Missouri area (Ozarks), please let me know ahead of time, and we can get together. We'd love to see you!

I will definitely be getting involved in the Missouri program as it's still much less robust than Texas. I really think I can make a difference there.

We will be leaving the area the week of June 16th, so if you know anyone who needs a home and wants to live in the La Vernia area, point them my way, LOL! You all hold a dear place in my heart, and I wish you all the best and especially continued success in Project Appleseed.

Until I see you again. Cheers and Huzzah,
Tim

I know I said this on the other thread (link below for those curious), but man . . . I wish you all the best, but for selfish reasons I'm sorry to hear this.

Godspeed buddy, and good luck.  Leaving Texas is a horrible decision, but good luck anyway.  ;D

Thanks, Jason! I'm the king of horrible decisions ;). It's been a great run here in Texas--especially working with all of you! Keep you wits up and your powder dry.
Huzzah!

Why anybody would leave Texas is beyond my thinking. ;D

But then he mentions parents. Good enough reason. And Tim will bring a little bit of Texas to Missouri.
