The A Girl and A Gun (AG&AG) annual conference is always an incredible event, and this year was no exception!
We kicked things off Thursday with our exhibit table in the exhibitor tents, where participants had a chance to answer a Revolutionary War trivia question and spin the prize wheel. The activity—led by Ghostring with help from ToLiveDeliberately—was an absolute blast and incredibly popular! Ghostring made sure that even if participants didn't know the answers at first, they left having learned something new. It was a fantastic and engaging way to share a piece of Revolutionary War history while introducing attendees to Project Appleseed and our mission to Reignite the Spirit of the American Revolution!
From Days 2 to 5, we ran two half-day rifle sessions each day. I can't say enough about the tenacity and determination of the AG&AG ladies. Most are primarily pistol shooters, and many had limited or no experience with a rifle. Despite being hit with a firehose of information in a short time, they soaked it all in and applied their new skills impressively.
We saw some incredible results: Several ladies earned an Appleseed pin by scoring over 40 on the Red Coat target, and others earned a Battle of Saratoga commemorative quarter for shooting a perfect score and/or hitting the shingle.
We fully expect to see many of these motivated ladies signing up for a one- or two-day 25m rifle event soon, where they'll get the chance to learn sitting and standing positions—and perhaps earn the coveted Rifleman patch. These ladies ROCK!
