Hey all,
I'm going to be dyeing a batch of USGI parade white rifle slings soon and figured I'd offer to include others if anyone's interested.
These white USGI slings take dye very well. I'm dyeing about ten for myself — I use them as loaner slings, so having them brightly colored makes it easier to tell which ones are mine (and helps prevent them from walking off — by accident, of course).
I'll be doing purple and yellow for sure, and I've got a few other colors on hand that I'll list soon. If there's enough interest in a certain color and I already have the dye, I'm happy to include it at no cost.
A few details:
I'll only dye the white USGI sling — no other types or materials.
I don't charge for the dyeing itself — just cover shipping.
You can send me your sling, or order one online and have it shipped directly to me.
No fancy patterns or combos — just solid colors using the dyes I've already got.
Interested? Reply with the color you'd be into.
I did this for my wife's slings a couple of years ago. They really do take dye well and hold their color.
I'd suggest a few in Hot Pink. (a mix of Petal Pink and Fuchsia)
All the Dye that I have are Rite dye's
Purple
Camel
Pearl Grey
Dark Brown
Kelly Green
Dark Green
TANGERINE
Lemon Yellow
An old hardcore Sargent Major (Reliable) I knew dyed one of his loaner slings Hot Pink. Once he did that he never had another sling just walk away. lol - he even showed up once with his Appleseed T-Shirt dyed pink just to see if anybody would make a smart azz remark. And no he wasn't 'that way' either.
I sure miss seeing him.
There was a young woman at my last event that was shooting next to me. She had a blue sling and I was so confused and she explained that she had dyed it. I didn't even know the white slings were an option. Either way the blue looked awesome and I'm sure that any of these colors would be fun to own.
