Should try out the squatting position.
Looks like a lot of fun! The squatting position would be hard.
I will definitely have to give this a try!

Hi Everyone
I finally took some time to do this course of fire.
It's harder than one might expect. I don't have an '03 Springfield. But I do have a stock 10/22 with tech sights. Just to try the cof I used that.
The cof can be at 25 meters (~1000 inches) so my son Nathaniel and I did that. Here's the cof:
5 shots sitting, 5 shots squatting, 5 shots kneeling, and 5 shots standing for the slow fire portion. Target is a bullseye style where the bull is 1.15" in diameter. The bull is five points. The four ring is 3.35" and the three ring is about 6" diameter. Above and below the three ring are two points. Tomorrow I'll post pictures of what the targets look like. There are no time limits in slow fire.
Rapid fire does have time limits: 68 seconds. But in using my liberty training rifle I set 55 seconds as my limit. With mags of four and five You have nine shots for prone, nine for sitting/squatting (shooter's choice) and nine kneeling. Total rounds required is 47. A perfect score would be 235 points.
The rapid fire target is very close in size to the standing target we use in stage one of a 25 meter AQT. So that's what I used.
Slow fire: I scored well in sitting kneeling and standing. Squatting was physically very difficult for me!!! I only score 14x25. Overall I tally 81x100 in slow fire. At this point I can't imagine shooting an '03 Springfield from the squat!
In rapid fire I definitely chose sitting over squatting and with my prone and kneeling scores I tally 131x135 for an overall total of 212. Nathaniel scored a 204.
This was a tough course of fire for me with over 1/3 of the emphasis on squatting and kneeling. To makes things a bit more challenging, at the Bandera range here in Texas last Sunday, it was over 100 degrees by the time we began our shooting.
I'd be interested to hear from others who have tried this test.

Here are the targets I referred to in the previous post.
