It was a glorious weekend for America.
Weather was great, except for the rain on Saturday.
I wonderful group that showed lots of improvement. Students had to push through adversity. We had a rifle go down from a broken extractor, an AR that got so dirty it couldn't cycle and had to be field stripped and cleaned.
Three new rifleman!
Nice shooting;
Jesse with a 227
Jed with a 223
Tony with a 212 on a takedown!
and Vic requalified with a couple of 223 scores.
Everybody loved the Parkers Revenge Target.
I was honored to conduct the memorial volley.
Great job persevering through the rain and thank you to all the students who showed up for Liberty.
Special shout out to United Sportsmens Inc for hosting us.
and a nod to all my great instructors, couldn't do it without you all!

Thank you for posting those pics!
The Parkers Revenge target was an awesome little event in itself.
Team Left did great with 23/75 points but Team Right took it with 25/75 points!
More pics from the weekend! It was a great one, despite even the occasional downpours.

What a fun weekend! It was great to be there on the 250th Anniversary Patriots Day event!
Shooting in the rain was a new one for me, but it's true — a rainy day shooting is better than a sunny day working! The actual rain didn't last long, and it gave us fair-weather California shooters a chance to sample what weather conditions are often like in other parts of the country. We can get spoiled. And for me personally, I prefer cool weather over some of the 100+ degree days we had for events last year, so an hour or so of rain was a fair trade for me.
The Parkers Revenge target was a hoot! I feel like our team was a bit disorganized during the strategy session, but it's not like we could ask Smith and his column to slow their march for us, "Excuse me, sir? Could you guys hold up for a second while we prepare to ambush you? We just need a few more minutes. That would be great. Thanks!" We had to go with what we had. I did get 2 hits on the grenadier I was assigned to, so I feel like I did my part. Hopefully we can do this again sometime.
One thing that stood out to me this time was the number of centerfire rifles. There are usually 1 or 2, but this time there were several, and not all the same each day. There was probably 5 or 6 in total over the weekend. So it was a fun opportunity for some of us just getting started with .22LR to see the bigger calibers in action and the variety of different guns. Now, as a guy with a 10/22, it was a bit of a new experience to have hot .223 brass landing on my back from the left and blast from a .223 muzzle brake smacking me from the right, but it gave me an opportunity to work on my Rifleman's Bubble! That said, I did appreciate that on day two we divided the line into a centerfire section and a rimfire section.
Thank you to all the volunteers! I went to my first event at Concord in April one year ago, and by March of this year, at least three of the students at the events I attended were back wearing orange hats. And this April, there was one more in an orange hat and another in blue! Congratulations and thank you to La Victoire Ailee and MamaPinks! This group of instructors does a great job of making good on the "seventh step" and converting student into volunteers.
Thanks again to USI, the volunteers, and fellow students for a great weekend!
My first time using imgur.
Hopefully it works. :P

Due to my work schedule, we could only make one day.
Sunday started out cold and damp, but eventually warmed up. After some instruction and stories (I have a lot to learn about both), we were able to join in for a little bit of shooting.
It was a genuine privilege to be involved as an IIT this month and this year.
We cannot wait until June to do it again.
Congratulations to the new Riflemen, and we saw a lot of progress in all attendees even in just the one day that we were able to attend.
We're proud to serve with such a dedicated cadre.
