Twenty one shooters came to the line on Saturday morning in spite of the cold and gray weather to celebrate Patriots Day and to learn about our country's heritage. We added 5 five new riflemen to the list of riflemen over the course of the weekend as well as having a number of requalifying scores. Congratulation to everyone who worked so hard to score 210 or more. To those who did not quite get there (and there was a number of people very close to scoring riflemen) remember a rifleman never quits so keep at it and you will get there.
I want to thank my instructors for giving up a weekend to come and instruct. You were all amazing and worked so well and diligently with the shooters to help them score rifleman. Thank you, also, to the Sportsman's Club of Battle Creek for hosting the event. The club's dedication to Appleseed is exemplary and very much appreciated.
Well said.
Good people.
Good location.
Good time.
I am encouraged by the ability to deal with frustration with self, equipment refusing to co-operate, and circumstances displayed by some of the shooters in attendance.
Come back again. We have "gremlin repellent spray" on order.
Thank you for the education at the ending by our neighbors to the North. Sad to know, but good to be aware of.
Thank you to all the instructors for your hard work, patience, and the excellent storytelling that brought history to life. It was a truly meaningful experience for both me and my daughter.
A special thank you to MI-Copperhead for his dedicated guidance and encouragement—he spent the entire day helping my daughter, and we are both deeply grateful for his kindness and support.
Fourteen years ago, during my very first Appleseed class, Super Heat said something to me that I've never forgotten: "Those patriots fought for posterity—and that posterity includes immigrants like you." His words have stayed with me ever since. They were deeply moving then, and they still warm my heart today.
I'm so glad I was able to come back this time with my daughter, so she could hear the same powerful stories and feel the weight of that legacy for herself.

Min, it was an honor to be able to assist Clemie with her first attempt at marksmanship and I hope some of our telling of the history made an impression on her. I hope to see you again at a future Appleseed.

My Mother was a British War bride. My Grandfather fought in the trenches in WWI under British forces. My uncle was a motorcycle messenger in North Africa under British forces, WWII. Unless you are Native American Indian, we are ALL immigrants... To some degree.
