With cloudy skies throughout the day, low 80s with low humidity, and the occasional delightful breeze, six shooters spent the day learning the history of 19 April, 1775, and the techniques of a rifleman. Several shooters were new to Appleseed, with various levels of proficiency.
Two students sported bolt actions, and the rest were semi-autos. All were scoped, and the students had a wonderful day of shooting.
Tempo was standard, with very little adjustments required and shooters were dialed in early. All enjoyed the IMC instruction and the animated histories by Catch-22. Given an early lead in the a.m. tempo, we conducted a Carding drill to emphasize the point of NPOA. Carding the sights made true believers out of all.
Based on scores observed, the students made tremendous progress through the day and really tightened up their technique. Several were knocking on the door of Rifleman and all increased their effective range significantly.
Many thanks to Berwyn Rod & Gun for hosting this event, and to their RSO support staff.
