What a great day, on THE DAY at Orwell gun club!
Several repeat supporters of the program came out, along with a large turnout of the Ohio and PA instructor cadre to share in the fellowship.
Brief introductions and safety reviews were held, then out onto the line we went. After a quick redcoat to shake off the rust, we began with the first of several AQTs. Tick Magnet regaled us with the tale of April 19th during some breaks in the day. While the weather could have been better, the comradeship more than made up for the wind and rain!
A lunch time cannonade sent spirits soaring! Parker's revenge was a hit between the two teams, and ended in a TIE!! what a testament to the skills of the shooters.
8 repeat rifleman were recognized, two volunteers recognized with service pins (thanks Carl and Mike), and Crazyduckhunter was recognized for his promotion to dsb! HUZZAH!
a large storm moving in pushed the memorial volley up a bit, but by that time everyone was pretty worn out. The "big boys" came out on the line as we honored those that gave their lives 250 years ago!
What a great time, and hope for many more!
