Thanks to everyone for coming out this last weekend for the April anniversary shoot. I hope everyone enjoyed the special activities and new Parker's Revenge target. Most everyone did great enduring the relentless wind over the weekend.
The students did a great job focusing the improvement of their marksmanship skills. Everyone showed improvement in their accuracy and precision. There were a lot of promising AQTs scores in which the shooters need just a little more practice to get to the expert level. I hope these shooters dry practice at home and then come back to the next event to earn their Rifleman patch.
Congratulation to Garrisen, the only new Rifleman of the weekend. He claimed to have not shot in a couple years, but adopted the Appleseed marksmanship techniques and went home with his patch. Two other shooter, Jake and Gary requalified their rifleman scores.
Our youngest shooter, Joe, put on an impressive display of marksmanship. His high score for the weekend was a 209, and he missed one shot on the 3 ring by only 1/16". This was his first AS event, so I expect to award him a patch very soon.
Everyone else, remember to dry practice at home. As they say, practice makes perfect. You can work on all the fundamentals at home. This includes the 6 Steps to Firing the Shot, the Steady Hold Factors and NPOA acquisitions.
I look forward to seeing everyone on the Appleseed trail again. Oh, as an FYI, the new bay being constructed at the Parma range will be an ideal location for a rimfire KD event. Keep you eye on the calendar to an event to be added this year.
