11 patriots gathered on the wide open space of Wells Rifle and Pistol Club's 200 yard range for a one day Appleseed event. After setting up, doing our first strike and safety rules we shot the hits count target. The results showed we had room to improve and knock the rust off.
Throughout the day our shooters stuck persisted in the face of adversary. Our firing line turned into a soupy mess, the winds were consistently above 15 mph with peaks up to 29. Still our shooters stuck with it.
Shooting the AQT was challenging as the targets seemed to sway more than 4MOA as the winds hit the backers, but our shooters persisted. In the end, the best they could manage was a 200. But we could see the improvement in their marksmanship skills based on their groups and their final AQT.

Trevor & Ryder - awesome job dealing with the misfires and squib in Ryder's rifle.
Jim - your groups were looking good. In more favorable conditions, I'm sure you would have been close or past the 210 score.
Eli - thank you for being there showing the youthful energy. Way to stick with it and I hope to see you on the line in the future - maybe wearing an orange hat.
Tony - so close - I look forward to seeing you in Monticello where you should earn your rifleman badge.
Stephanie - thank you for persisting and learning how to shoot your late father's Henry 22lr.
Brandon - I can see that your were improving - a little more dry-fire practice and I'm confident you'll make score next event.
Haley - Awesome job! - not having fired a rifle before to out shooting your mom on the last hits count. Way to go!
Mark - thank you for your insights and your dedication. I could see you had the right forms and were doing the right things. Unfortunately time was short and the weather didn't allow for good scores on the 400 yard target. I look forward to seeing you at future events.
