Title: Hurlburt Field Florida, AAR, April 5-6 Rifle Clinic
Post by: gunjunkie on April 08, 2025, 10:39:10 PM
What a great weekend. We had 13 patriots join us to celebrate those that gave their lives to secure our freedoms and liberties. I love Patriots' Day shoots, it reminds us all of those things we have to be grateful for as Americans. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the history; the story of General William Heath was a great addition. The memorial volley gave everyone an opportunity to reflect on the price of liberty and those that paid in full that day.

The weekend had a very slow start driven by rifle fitment. Taking the time up front is always time well spent. We quickly made it up and ended the day on time. Sunday started off looking like bad weather may end our day early but we received a blessing and with the exception of the wind the weather held off until the event had ended.

Although we failed to reveal any new riflemen, all in attendance made a great deal of progress with their marksmanship. A few previous Appleseeders proved they still had what it took to shoot score. Anthony had a high score of 226, Rick a 214, Brian a 216 and Debra, our newest orange hat had the high score of the weekend with a 227. Autumn, a first time Appleseeder cleared the last hits count target of the weekend and received a Saratoga Quarter and that's a big deal.

Thanks everyone for joining us. I hope you all learned something about our extraordinary heritage and had fun doing it. I look forward to seeing you all again.

I want to thank Hurlburt Field Rifle and Pistol Club and its members for their continued support, we are forever grateful.

Thanks to all the Instructors for giving so freely of your time, without you this wouldn't happen.
