We had 10 Patriots come out and honor Liberty with a big bang! We got started off with a review as well as some new KD information. We told a little bit of history and then off to the range. We hung targets on the electronic scoring backers -- Yes, I said electronic scoring! What a nice set up this range has! We confirmed zeros and ensured 4-5 MOA groups at 25 yards, and then moved to the 100 hundred yard, shot sighters, then stage 1 of the AQT, and then did the same at 200, 300 and 400 -- You know the drill! We finished a bit earlier than expected so we made our way back from 400 to 100 to end out the day of shooting. On day one, we had 4 people make rifleman scores: Matthew with a 47 and 40, Nick with a 40, John Fl with a 41 and 46; and Davidjr with a 46 ad 47. HOOZAH!
We started off day two with some history and then off to shoot Morgan's shingle and had 4 hit the shingle cold bore first shot of the day: Chuck, Jonathan, Kevin and John Fl.
We were racing to beat the rain that actually held off until a little later than expected and were able to get in 4 AQTs and added 5 additional riflemen!! When the rain started we got in a little more history and awarded patches to end out the day. We had some very impressive scores - high scores for each were: Matthew-40; Nick-44, Kevin-47, Jonathan-44, John Fo-43, Davidjr-47 and Gordon-42, Cody-45 AND John Fl scored a 50!!! CONGRATS guys!!! Others are knocking on the door, just have a few kinks to work out - Sara pulled off a 34! Carolyn improved from a 25 to a 37!! and David S. shot a 39! So close! GREAT JOB everyone!
We also have a new IIT - thanks Jonathan for taking an orange hat. Johnathan has attended several Appleseed events - he is a great shooter, a great Patriot and will make a great instructor!!
Thank you to all of the instructors who came out - these events don't happen without you! A special thanks to the Range. This is a super nice range and is very supportive of Project Appleseed!! Also Thanks Dennis, Cody and Chuck for delivering some great history.
I can't wait to do it again!!
For those of you who took pictures, please post them in the thread!
