A sold out event at the Ramseur range is 30 students we had 33 students. Saturday we had 6 instructors and Sunday we had 7. You would think with the student to instructor ratio that there would be a lot of confusion and a low number of Riflemen. But with the instructors that I was blessed with we had 14 total riflemen and only 2 requalifying. We also are adding 4 new instructors.
The weather was outstanding with a little added wind to keep the targets flying. A large number of campers which made the camp fire talk a lot of fun (the wind did stop midday). Overall the students were very safe and listened to not only the instructions but also the stories. We had 10 students under the age of 18 all for them improved between 40 to 80 points. One got riflemen at a score of 210 he enjoyed the water of the North Bridge.
The instructors in training basically ran line and gave one on one instruction as the weekend went on. My red hats passed on their knowledge to everyone that would listen. We did an Oreo shoot on Sunday, didn't know they blow-up when hit in the center. We also did the KD shoot on Sunday. It's always really assume to here steel ring out but to hear it over 20 times with 22LR ammo at 150 yards is assume.
Wow! That sounds like an awesome shoot! Way to go instructors and shooters. Welcome aboard riflemen and new instructors.

Great job, everyone! I was lucky to experience the energy and commitment from the shooters and the instructors on Sunday. Russ did excellent work keeping everything safe and moving along, and the score results speak to the willingness of the shooters to hone new skills with a teachable attitude!
WOW! What great numbers!!!
Congrats to all those who shot Rifleman scores and to new instructors!!
