Another awesome 25M Traditional Appleseed event is in the books. Nine students came out to share in improving their marksmanship and learning Revolutionary history. We must give a big THANK YOU to the Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club for allowing us to use their fine facilities for the weekend. They are always great hosts and this time the club President joined us as a student.
This was the first time all the students attended an Appleseed. That didn't get in their way of learning and honing their marksmanship. Groups shrunk and scores improved as the weekend progressed. This was a very engaged group. They were attentive and participated in discussions of history and citizenship. They're definitely patriots.
Emma, sixteen years old, shot the high score of the weekend (239). While this was her first Appleseed and she had never before shot positions or used a sling, she is a highly skilled participant of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). She will surely be back in pursuit of the Distinguished Rifleman patch.
Three Riflemen were revealed with excellent scores: Emma 239, Efren 221, and Ernest 211. Ernie would have no doubt scored higher but was only able to shoot one AQT before leaving to attend family business. One instructor JC/DC requalified with a centerfire and iron sights (224).
The instructor team was top-notch. They made this old SB proud to work with them.
I almost forgot to comment on the weather. While the weather was agreeable and wasn't a Winterseed, this weekend definitely qualified as cold by Florida standards. I saw several people with handwarmers and gloves.

Congratulations on an awesome shoot! A special congratulations to Emma! Well done crew!
