What a great weekend for liberty and marksmanship! We could not have asked for better weather to have a weekend on the range, particularly after months of heat and rain.
As always, we're very grateful to Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club for allowing us to use their range. It's a first-class facility, and a must-join for anyone in Central Florida.
We had a very eager group of 16 students, including 6 young men. Starting the day off strong, we jumped right into history and heard a passionate first strike from JC/DC. It was great to see everyone participating in the discussion.
Our first redcoat showed some room for improvement, so we started our formal instruction and by lunch we were seeing some spectacular groups. This was demonstrated on the first AQT, with several shooters nearing 200 already. Chris (B.C.) showed he knows what he is about, submitting a qualifying score of 218 before laying his rifle down and picking up his Red Hat for the rest of the weekend.
By the end of the day 2, we had revealed 3 new riflemen (Cameron, Fred, and Bryan), 2 requalifications (Mark and Kurt), and a couple instructors showing they still have their skills (Louie Louie and JC/DC). We also had several others knocking on the door- Jackson with a 194, Justin with a 192 (both with iron sights!), and Jake with a 197.
To all the shooters, well done. We saw improvement across the board throughout the weekend. If you didn't earn your patch this time, remember, a Rifleman persists. Dry fire, study your Guidebooks, and come back again. Our next event in Palm Bay may not be until February, but don't be afraid to come see us at another range.
Thank you to the best group of instructors an aspiring shoot boss could ask for- JC/DC, KOF, Sarea_51, Louie Louie, Sieggie, malabar, B.C., ArmyBooger, SweetCarolyn, BornFree, and of course TheMenace.

Good times indeed. The Palm Bay crew is always impressive and the students were amazing! It was a pleasure to be in the presence of such fine Americans. Well done to all. O0
I enjoyed working with all the shooters. Big congrats to Fred! I know you have been working hard to score Rifleman and it paid off. Nice job!
We had a great time being twisted into pretzels and then relaxing into precision shooting...
Myself, I was thrilled to be back at PMRPC and the new range complete with an air conditioned classroom area was a welcome surprise.
As always a great crew of instructors and IiT.
Now Becky knows what she is all about. (what was I thinking...)
