Fall appleseeds are the best and this weekend was further evidence. With the exception of the mornings being a little chilly - the weekend was ideal. The fall foliage displaying its brilliant colors really set the scene.
We had 17 shooters at this event - many of them beginners. I can't recall the last time I saw a firing line with >50% iron sights and at least 4 new rifles on the line. Two of our shooters brought tube fed rifles and showed they were no obstacle to scoring rifleman. The marksmanship was taught, the scores improved. Saturday afternoon saw 3 redcoats cleared, and Sunday morning there were 4! A few new riflemen were made. Congratulations also to those who requalified.
Others saw their scores improve and were encouraged to persist!
Thanks to all the volunteers that gathered this weekend to pass on the heritage!
Sheepdog180 did a great job covering the points of instruction for marksmanship - congratulations on promotion to red hat! Thanks to Sparky117 and ChiefLane for telling the strikes and lighting the torch. Thanks to Buzzard, Mando, Chill, Mac, Shadow870, Hemi286, Messer454, Rattlehead, DocWilli, HailStorm, and Shep. Progress was made working through progress checks for the orange hats.
Thanks to Piqua Fish and Game for hosting.

What a wonderful shoot it was! Congratulations to our newest riflemen, and great job to all who cleared the hits counts target - that's no easy feat!
Great job to Sheepdog180 for graduating to instructor, I am blessed to be teaching liberty alongside you!
To those who have yet to achieve the rifleman's score, we encourage you to keep practicing, dry firing, and come back in the spring. Your patch will be waiting!
I don't think we could have asked for a more perfect weekend for remembering our heritage and practicing our marchmanship! Congratulations to our new rifleman!
Piqua was the place to be this last weekend . A group of high sons and daughters of liberty gathered to pass down heritage and marksmanship to very eager and attentive students. Great job of your Red Hat promotion Sheepdog180! All of the the ITT' were fully engaged and progressing well. With being lead through the courses of Fire by Griffin, it was a highly successful weekend for Liberty!
Great instruction, at a great location, and fantastic weather! A great weekend all around for sure!
Way to go, OH-IO!!
