Special thanks to the Tulpehocken Rifle and Pistol Club for hosting us for the first time. They were very helpful in all aspects of getting ready for two days of an Appleseed Rifle Clinic. They have invited us back there again next year, and we are scheduling for April 12-13, 2025 and Sept. 20-21, 2025!
The weather was great both days (sunny!), and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend of marksmanship and heritage! The shooters all persevered through the firehose of instruction and greatly improved as the weekend progressed. We worked through the day proceeding from demonstration to dry fire practice to live fire confirmation of our marksmanship instruction, combined with history and heritage. A few equipment issues were quickly corrected, and loaner rifles were used where necessary. Everyone was very receptive to the course of instruction. History and heritage were well received and there were some great discussions.
Everyone returned on Sunday. We worked through more instruction and AQT's, and all showed great improvement as the day progressed. Everyone had the process down pretty well and we proceeded at a good pace. The Time Monkey stayed off our backs, and several AQT's were shot.
The shooters showed those pesky Redcoats the strength of our cause on both the AQT and Hits Count Targets, and we have three new Rifleman to add to our cadre - Aaron, Sawyer and Jeff. And the same three cleared the Redcoat target, with Aaron and Sawyer doing it sitting! Huzza!
We also have a new Orange Hat to add to our cadre! Jeff, who stepped up to begin his Appleseed instructor journey. Thanks, and welcome aboard!
Thanks to all the shooters and the Tulpehocken Rifle and Pistol Club for a great weekend
Awards!
I would like the thank Mike and Don for coming to the Tulpehocken Rifle and Pistol Club for the Appleseed clinic. Their instructing, professionalism and knowledge were outstanding. Several officers and board of directors of the TR&PC observed the event and immediately agreed to hold more clinics (already scheduled)
at Pine Grove. Thanks again and we will see you again in April and September.

I would like to express my appreciation to Mike our shoot boss and his coaches who made the experience a safe and informative one. The attention to detail on making sure the rifles were zeroed and capable of meeting the marksmanship requirements was a testament of the skill and dedication of the instructors. In a world of everyone gets a trophy, I feel the Appleseed Program stands for, some things still need to be earned. I attended with my teenage son who demonstrated a willingness to go the distance. Being a retired Army and law enforcement veteran I fully appreciate the knowledge and history lessons this program puts forward. I salute those who put the time, effort, and energy into making this great program function.
