Title: How do I ask about locating my record for past events?
Post by: Slaven on September 26, 2024, 07:25:33 PM
I attended 2 Appleseeds and 1 Bootcamp sometime around 15 years ago at a range just outside of Temple. All paperwork and patches were lost. Is it possible to have records located going back that far?

Thanks in advance,

Slaven

Hi Slaven,

I'm not a person that can speak definitivly but that may be a tall order.

May I ask what it is you're trying to accomplish with the records? Perhaps we can help another way.

Thanks for the quick response. No ultimate goal ... I'm just re-entering a hobby and part of life that has lapsed due to work and life. I have fond memories of Appleseed events but no recollection of exactly when they happened. Memories begin to fade with age. No worries. I'm now living in SC and will attend a weekend here in March of 2025 and begin making new memories. Stay safe and keep your powder dry!

We are looking forward to meeting you at the March shoot and I am not trying to discourage you from coming but,,,,
there is an Appleseed in NC, South of Charlotte in December of this year in case you want to get started sooner rather than later.

I am not sure what part of SC you are in, but the Charlotte event is right on the border of SC/NC.

South of Temple, TX sounds like the Appleseed range at Davilla

It would be pretty tough to dig up that info. We didn't really get computerized with a database until late 2011. Things were done on posts and even spreadsheets (which had lots of typos) so short answer is no I can't help. I might be able to dig that info up by lots and lots of searching and digging around but I just don't have enough time in the day to do so.

Thanks, Scuzzy. I appreciate the response. At 65, it's probably a part of my life lessons to let go of things of youth gracefully. The knowledge and skill remain to enjoy and share.

Welcome back to Appleseed!

There are 323 pages of AAR's in a link at the top of the page. You can sift through the pages of your time frame and see what you can find.

Just saw this thread.

For what it is worth Slaven - I actually remember you being at that RBC and I remember your last name.

We were at that November 2007 RBC at Scout's property in Davilla, TX together. I'm pretty confident the dates of that RBC ranged from 11/04/2007 - 11/11/2007 - Sunday to Sunday.

I might even have a picture or two of you somewhere - riding on the back of that big flat bed trailer we used for a firing line at known distance the Thursday of the 11/07 RBC. Remember how we had hay bales for a backstop at known distance?

Instructor didactic was there as well as my best friend sleepy Joe.

Mike aka Scout - the property owner and likely record keeper from that 2007 time period - passed away in 2015. As scuzzy stated the records before 2011 can be difficult  to produce.

But I remember you. Glad you are still with us. Let me know if I can be of service.
