It was an amazingly beautiful weekend in northern Wisconsin at the Indianhead Rifle and Pistol Club in Spooner, WI. The sun was shining and the temperatures were just perfect in the low to mid 70s. There was a bit of a breeze on Sunday that was causing some trouble, but nothing that could not be managed.
We had 3 participants in which there was a first timer (Chris), one who hasn't done it in 10 years (Chuck), and a 14-year-old (Jaxon) who has done several this year. Chris and Chuck made huge improvements from the beginning of the weekend until the end of the weekend, both are right there and are close to getting Rifleman. Chuck had a high score of 201 and Chris had a high score of 171. Jaxon not only made Rifleman on Saturday with a score of 212, but also took up an orange hat on Sunday. So, proud of these three guys!
Much thanks and appreciation to fellow instructors jtecker and Firestick who all did a super job this weekend. Jtecker completed his IIT1 and is hoping to complete IIT2 in October in River Falls, WI. Firestick is Jaxon's dad and you could see the pride on his face when Jaxon got Rifleman and took up an orange hat. Thank you to Taylor for being Shoot Boss, who always does such an amazing job. Chuck is Taylor's son-in-law and Chris is Chuck's neighbor, so Taylor really enjoyed watching them 2 develop over the weekend. Also, many thanks to Taylor for taking Miara under his wing to help her in the Instructor to Shoot Boss pathway.
Finally, not enough thanks can be given to the Indianhead Rifle and Pistol Club for allowing us to use the range and for all their support for Project Appleseed.
