Special thanks to the Slippery Rock Sportsman Club for hosting us again. They were very helpful in all aspects of getting ready for the weekend at an Appleseed Pistol Clinic. And we will be back there again next year!
All the shooters that signed up were able to join us both days, and the weather was great. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend of marksmanship and heritage! The shooters all persevered and greatly improved as the weekend progressed. We worked through the day proceeding from demonstration to dry fire practice to live fire confirmation of our marksmanship instruction, combined with history and heritage. A few equipment issues were corrected as they cropped up throughout the weekend, but were resolved by the knowledgeable staff and shooters. Everyone was very receptive to the course of instruction. History and heritage were well received and there were some great discussions.
Everyone returned on Sunday and we took advantage of the continued good weather. At lunch, firearms from the Colt era were shown and generated great interest. By Sunday afternoon fatigue started to set in, but we all persevered.
The shooters showed those pesky Redcoats the strength of our cause on both the PQT and Hits Count Targets. Five shooters cleared the Hits Count target, and were awarded the Pennsylvania patch. A further four became Pistoleer™'s, along with one who requalified. Huzza! Congratulations to all.
Thanks to all the shooters, instructors and the Slippery Rock Sportsman Club for a great weekend.
