Title: Sheridan WY AAR August 17-18, 2024

The weather cooperated, sunny with temps in the high 90's,Even hit 100 on Saturday With light breezes available to suck the moisture right out of you! Dehydration became an issue.  Are there Caliente Patches for that? We had a great group of shooters, ranging in age from 10-70! With good learning attitudes. Excellent progress made by our youngest shooter, so much so that by the end of the shoot he was doing everything by the numbers. He had a tough time sorting out his new rifle until we figured out his front sight was loose enough to fall off!  Challenges, opportunities for solutions! West coast Matt proved that even experienced shooters can learn something at an Appleseed, Walking away with real gems. Wyoming Matt is persisting at his second Appleseed and proving that an old dog can learn new tricks and keeps on improving.  I expect him to earn the score, next year I hope.
Kyle a first timer, showed us how it is done.  Clearing a Redcoat hits count target Saturday PM and Shooting Rifleman 2 times on Sunday. Huzzah! Nicely done.  Hope to see him come back next year to shoot and commit to walking the Instructor trail. Thanks to all of you for persisting through some hot Wyoming weather.
Sunday afternoon at the awards ceremony. Wyoming welcomed us with a brief, sudden, violent, gust of wind that successfully broke a shade pop up tent and completely flattened the ingenious firing line makeshift cover that Oldfartoo erected, This assisted us in the rapid take down and clean up of the range :P
I would like to thank my instructors, Oldfartoo for coming from Gillette and Pew pew pew for coming back and helping out.  We need you.  Swede Shooter for making some excellent new backer boards for our shoot and continuing  to work towards IIt 3 & telling the history for Itt4. Way to go. last but not least, Ridge Walker for making the 5 hour trek from Dubois and helping, your organization and cool demo rifle are inspiring. Sundays morning review was well done!
I would like to thank The Sheridan County Sportsmans Association for supporting the Appleseed Project and providing us an excellent place to hold our clinics.

Way to go, Wyoming!  Looks like everyone had a great time and persisted under tough conditions.

Sure sounds like Caliente weather to me!!  Beemer, send me a PM. Let's make that happen.

Good job folks - both Instructors and attendees!  Definitely warm for Wyoming.  Congrats to all for toughing it out and having a good, safe, productive shoot.  Thank you Patriots.  Wish I could have been there... LIBERTAS!

AWESOME!  I WOW crazy hot temperatures!  Great job Matt - I'm impressed! and Kyle great job for achieving the coveted Rifleman patch.  Do I see a Father and Son?  My favorite!  Nothing like seeing Parents and children enjoying a great day of shooting together!  Whoo Hoo!!!
