Title: Parma ID, Pistol Clinic, August 3/4, 2024 AAR
Post by: Prescott on August 05, 2024, 02:36:56 PM
If I had any control over the weather, I would certainly apologize for it last weekend. What a brutal weekend to be at the range. Above average high temperatures with above average humidity made for a grueling two days in Parma.

Other than that, it was a great weekend to be range participating is an AS Pistol Clinic. The range was relatively quiet since not many people were out in the heat. The only distraction was the guys in the range next to use doing the component failure testing on their fully automatic rifle. From the feedback received from the students, everyone enjoyed the instruction and history presentations. The new Pistol Clinic stories were well received, as all the students had previously attended an AS rifle clinic.

While some of the students struggled with the PQT targets, some of the students dominated them. Four shooters earned their Pistoleer™™ patch. Congratulations to Tommy,Tony,David and Bryce.  Huzzah, Huzzah, Huzzah!

For those that did struggle with their scores, remember dry practice at home is the best method for improvement. Concentrate on perfecting the skills learned over the weekend.  Focus your practice on making sure you are using the six steps on every trigger press. In the heat of a time stage, it is easy to forget all of this steps, so it is good to ingrain the steps in the comfort of your air conditioned abode. Once you have the six steps down, then focus on grip, stance and NPOA.

I am looking forward to seeing each of you again at another AS event.  Remember to check you schedule for the weekend of Oct 5/6.  This is the weekend of the 200 yard rimfire rifle KD event.
