Title: Chugiak, AK AAR July 13 - July 14

July is a great time of year in Alaska, and there are few better ways to enjoy the weather than at an Appleseed shoot. We have definitely had better weather in the past for shoots, but the rain didn't stop the 6 students that showed up that weekend.

With students ranging from first time ever shooters, to experienced Riflemen this weekend was a blast! We had a new shooter (never fired a rifle before) shoot not too far off Rifleman! One of our regular attendees who shoots every event standing didn't quite qualify this time (although he has in the past) but he was able to keep the Redcoats back to 300 yards on the hits count target! Really incredible skill in the standing position!

We added one more Rifleman to the ranks up here in Alaska, and that's always great to see. Although, I think my favorite part of the shoot was at then end of Sunday, we had a 13 year old student ask for more history!! That doesn't happen too often! We also had a first timer express interest in getter her orange hat, so that's really exciting! We can never have enough people spreading the mission.

All in all it was a good shoot, and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
