We had another great Appleseed weekend at one of our great NW WI supporters, Blue Hills Sportsmen's Club. Thank you Dan, Doc, Greg, Tim and the rest of your board for your Club's ongoing support of The Appleseed Mission.
Saturday started dark and stormy, staying that way until almost mid-afternoon but all of our students and Instructors persisted and once the dust (or should I say rain?) had settled we had one new (Andrew 235) Rifleman along with Mark and Luke who requalified at 213 and 224. Congratulations all!
Sunday was sunny and a little warm/humid. But I might add that most of the mosquitoes seemed to have taken the day off. No new Riflemen to report but we do have some up and comers. Jaxon improved all weekend and ended up with a 184 best. I'm not sure of Jeremiah aka Panzer's best score but he also displayed steady progress. Joshua who decided to switch to an optic on Sunday (thank you Phil) zoomed up to a 207. All three of you guys have been Appleseed students since you were knee-high to a grasshopper (thank you Ken aka Firestick) and you are all soon to be Riflemen.
A special thank you for stepping up goes out to Joshua who enlisted in the US Army and ships out to basic training next month. God bless and protect you Young Man.
We once again were privileged to have a couple of Father/Son teams on the line...Chris, Luke, Mark/Ken, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jaxon...I love you guys!
We also had a Brother team on the line. Phil's brother Andrew, a first time Appleseed student, cleared 3 out of 4 Redcoats and did an AQT best of 235. Was it genetics or superb Brotherly coaching/coercion? Hmm? Love you guys too.
Of course none of this good news could have been reported but for the continued dedication of my fellow Instructors. Thank you Rob, Chris, Ken, Phil and Mark. This weekend could never have happened without your contributions.
