We had an absolutely beautiful weekend for the June 29-30 shoot at the Dragoon Trail Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, with sunshine and temps in the mid-70s to low-80s. Many thanks to the Ankeny Ikes for hosting us, and to DrFury for all his work coordinating the event (and I assume ordering the fine weather)!
We had 13 shooters participate, eight of whom were attending their first event. Experience coming in ranged from expert to hardly having touched a rifle before. Tremendous improvement was seen all around. Shooters - we instructors were blown away at your teachable attitudes and your hard work. Your perseverance will pay off! Keep digging!
In addition to several shooters knocking on the door, we minted one new rifleman - Nick, whose 210 earned him a sprinkling. Jack requalified as a rifleman, and decided that he wanted to take an orange hat. To quote IowaMark, "HUZZAH!!!".
What a great shoot! Photos will follow.
