15 shooters showed up for our 15th anniversary of doing events at Fenton Lakes Sportsmen's Club. Saturday started off dreary and wet - rain showers for most of the morning. Instructors and shooters alike pushed through and persevered as we moved through the points of instruction.
The shooters all brought teachable attitudes, and were very receptive to our teaching methods and dryfiring exercises.
The rain moved off later in the morning yielding to a bright sun and the temperature getting over 80°. In and of itself, that's fine, but the crushed asphalt surface of the range amplifies the heat, and shooters and instructors alike started showing signs of heat fatigue later in the afternoon.
Sunday was much cooler and cloudy. Energy levels seemed a bit higher. After some instructional recaps, we dove into some AQTs. John and Addy both requalified as Riflemen, Addney took it a step further and earned the Distinguished patch. Kyle was putting up some great groups, but had issues on his first few AQTs on stage four putting the right number of rounds on the right targets.
Despite a low-scoring stage four, Kyle achieved a 212 score, earning his Rifleman patch. He got himself squared away with stage 4 and promptly put up a 237 score. He then accepted an Orange Hat. Huzzah!!!
Baird, Michael and Torsten - it was great to have three generations on the line!
Shaun and Kevin - you both had great attitudes, and remember, a Rifleman persists! You'll keep improving!
Ali and Barrett - thanks for attending both of our programs - pistol and rifle. I hope you've enjoyed yourselves.
Kyle (Cantcount) - Thank you for accepting the Orange Hat. I look forward to working with you again.
Thanks to all the shooters for coming out and spending a weekend with us. If you enjoyed yourselves, please tell others about us. Even better, come back with more!

So very good to see fresh, new Orange hats on the line. Very good to be with other instructor friends. Better yet to see groups shrink, then get on target for the first time shooters; then note the look of pure enthusiasm on their faces.
Good times. Thank Y'all for having a part in making it happen!!
