The Great Ames Iowa Appleseed 4-18/19, 2009
Folks, this was a great group of people to work with. They all worked hard, kept attentive, and tried to learn, culminating in five new riflemen. I do believe that if this had been a three day event most of the shooters there would have made rifleman too. All while it was cool and rainy and not too many breaks. Good Job Iowa!

I'll try and post a few pics but keep in mind I am on dial up!
I forgot to mention at close that our good friends the Ames Ikes, provided the facility for our use at no charge, and reserved the range for us for the entire weekend, which is a really big thing that they only do elsewise for the Iowa Games.
If you enjoyed their hospitality, please email thanks to both the chapter president and to the out door range director. Go to their website www.amesikes.org and procede to "contact us" then to "general questions" for the president and "out door range" for range director.
thanks,
mark

Two of my boys and I were there Saturday for our first Appleseed. Thanks to Iowa-mark, The Raven, Alex, Subvet and all for a great experience.
Didn't make Rifleman, but learned a lot and will be back.
Thanks,

Excellent Job guys!! O0
Look at that little guy he brought his own orange hat! ;)
It occurs to me that I could use lower rings and improve cheek weld. Pictures reveal.
Great job Iowa

A big thanks to Iowa-Mark, The Raven, Azel, Subvet, and Randy for a job well done this past weekend!
I brought my 9 year old son to his first Appleseed and what a great time we had. The individual instruction and attention you all gave to my son made for a wonderful improvement in his shooting skills. Thank you all very much! Now to cut that stock that Subvet sent to him and we should start seeing some high AQT scores from that young man!
Shooting the synchronized 13-volley Redcoat on Saturday was sobering -- hearing those names called out really brought 1775 into perspective. Then, getting my Rifleman patch on April 19 added a really special touch. Later, in a surprise move, Iowa-Mark does a flashback to the first strike to give a superb telling of the Isaac Davis story that left my eyes full of tears. And just when I didn't think any more emotion could be stirred, The Raven caps the day by giving a call to action that was so heartfelt and genuine, one couldn't help but be ashamed at his lack of action. We must get off the couch.
Lord bless,
Chris
We had a great group of shooters and I wish we would have had another day too work with them. I am sure we would have had almost everyone make rifleman. Thanks to the Izaak Walton League for letting us put on a great event. It was a great weekend. I hope to see those guys who were close to making rifleman in Searsboro on June 6-7.
Fabulous report and pictures.
Thank You for posting.
Excellent job Iowa-Mark and all. O0
