Title: AR attachment for a GI sling?
Post by: Myrradah on June 23, 2024, 04:15:48 PM
Hi all,

Been looking around for something I like but not finding anything. Mainly for Known Distance class as well as precision shooting comps.

AR stock have that QD mount but sideways and not one that would work like we are showing using a GI Sling and J hook.

maybe something that attaches in the QD spot but flips the angle too attach and that slide over and lock in. Hard to explain.

Anyways, any input on any options you all are aware of?

Yeah - I have the same deal. I've got it sideways and learned to deal with it. Attached on the rear, lowest position, and the side where my support arm is. Not bad. Sure there's better setups though.

Things are simplest if you're using the plain USGI buttstock with the fixed swivel at the bottom - just replace that swivel with this product: https://grovtec.com/products/lr-ar-buttstock-push-button-base. There are similar products from Grovtec and/or KNS Precision if you desire the other style of quick detach hardware.

Alright, think i got it.

Adaptix Stock with a stud QD for the swivel. little different coming from the side but the feel and stability feels about the same.

You could also just get creative with some paracord.  Works well if there's something to loop around

Found another option.

Timer creek makes a Mlok adapter you can attach a GI Sling to.

I have used these for several rifles. Require a little bit of fitment on your part but they are quality.

Yes, I had to file it down a little here and there but nothing major.
I like that link of yours also, but I cant detach it is my only issue. not a big issue but i would rather have the option with a little filing :)
