This was an amazing event!! We had a table in the exhibit hall (tent) on Thursday and made a lot of new connections. Ladies were drawn in by the the Rifleman's Wisdom poster and our 7th Stepping poster and were interested to hear about Project Appleseed and our mission.
We held two sessions per day for three days. We endured warmth, cold, rain and hail - and the ladies persisted and continued to shoot in all of them. We did have one delay due to lightening.
During each session we introduced the ladies to the Project Appleseed mission, then completed the safety briefing, taught the proper prone position, six steps to firing the shot and of course Natural Point of Aim. Then we proceeded to the firing line and put what they had learned to practice by shooting a few squares ensuring zeros and right into the Hits Count target. They also heard some history within their session.
Throughout the conference, we had 5 ladies clear the redcoat, at least one of whom had never fired a rifle. Those who cleared the hits count were awarded a Patriots Day patch along with a Saratoga quarter, both supplied by Traci "Mrs. Smith". We had many ladies who scored more than 40 on the Hits Count target to earn a Project Appleseed lapel/hat pin.
A special thanks to the amazing instructor Cadre' Traci "Mrs. Smith", Scott, "Maha Motorworks", Ellie, "Late by Proxy" and Chuck "Gunjunkie". We had a great team who provided great instruction to all of the ladies as shown by the progress made by all.
We received great feedback from the ladies via A Girl and A Gun feedback process.
We hope to see them all come back again next year and especially at Project Appleseed events throughout the year. Many showed interest in attending a two-day event to continue their Riflewoman journey!
The AG&AG conference is an amazing event and we look forward to participating again next year!

Wow! This looks like an awesome event! Good job everyone! O0
A hail-covered, wet shooting mat. The most concrete sign you are doing Appleseed in CO! Looks like it was a great event!
This was a fantastic event with a great group of patriots determined to master the rifle. With minimal instruction some of these ladies demonstrated not only their ability to grasp instruction but also how to apply it. These girls are amazing. It was an honor and privilege to work with such a great group and I hope to do it again next year.
That looks like a fun weekend and a beautiful location. The hail and rain and temps just adds character, right?
I joined A Girl and a Gun a couple months ago. They seem like a great group determined to make good shooters out of women.
