Title: AAR - Colorado Springs, CO, April 27th and 28th
Post by: desert_diver on May 05, 2024, 11:23:06 PM
2 motivated shooters showed on a cold and wet Saturday to learn our Heritage and Rifle Marksmanship.  A break in the weather at about 11 am didn't last, so only one Hits Count target was shot on Saturday.  The day ended early with hopes of better weather on Sunday.

Sunday's weather was a lot better.  After shooting squares for IMC, the positions not taught on Saturday were covered.  After lunch and DOM stories, it was time for AQTs.  No rifleman scores were shot, but substantial progress was made in marksmanship.

The weather was difficult, but it was a great weekend.  The history was particularly vivid because one student and one member of the cadre had lived in and around Boston.  Connecting one's daily life to events from our history was amazing.

Much gratitude to Pikes Peak Gun Club for the use of their excellent facility, and special thanks to Shoot Boss desert_diver for making the trek North to work this shoot. Kudos also to the CO cadre and our intrepid shooters who persevered through the less than optimal weather conditions.

We'll be back at PPGC for our summer 2024 event August 24-25th. Sign up here: https://appleseedinfo.org/schedule/?qstate=CO&state=Colorado
