Title: Macon, GA 25m event April 27-28 AAR
Post by: Roswell on April 29, 2024, 05:04:34 PM
Saturday, we had 12 faithful patriots join us at the Marion Road Gun Club in Macon, Georgia. After the welcome, we jumped right into history with the First Strike of the Match. Then it was time for the Hits Count target. We saw we had some work to do, but also had some shooters too, with Mike clearing the target. Huzzah!

After the Hits Count target, it was time for instruction. Sling Use, 6 Steps, NPOA, and the Prone position. We did some dryfire and trigger exercises and finally, the shooter's patience was awarded with some squares. With the time monkey nowhere in sight, we rolled on into Talking Targets. Shot a square. Did some Inches, Minutes, and Clicks.

After IMC, we shot a square. Made some changes, and shot a square. Then we went to lunch. At lunch, DEH regaled us with the 2nd Strike of the Match. Our bellies full we hit the line once again for another square. Then we did Rifleman's Cadence and Carding the Sights. Next was Magazine Changes. With the day still early we brought out the first AQT. We learned transition to prone and put it into practice on Stage 3. Then we learned Seated and transition to seated and put that into practice on Stage 2. We then learned our last position, standing before shooting Stage 1 and then 4.

We took a break to hear the 3rd Strike of the match. Then we shot one more AQT. Congratulations to Mike, Don, and Dennis on re-qualifying!  ^:)^  We finished off shooting with another Hits Count showing much improvement all around and George and Mike both had cleared the target!  O0 The day closed out with the Philosophy of Liberty of the Founding Fathers.

Sunday morning a line of Redcoats awaited the shooters.

Before we could shoot the redcoat though we had some other things to take care of. We kicked off with some history on the Black Robed Regiment. Next, we reviewed everything from the day before.

After review, we were back at it with a Redcoat target. We did some sighters and then an AQT while the shooters were still fresh. We did some NPOA drills and then another AQT. Then it was lunchtime. Shooters got to hear some DOM stories and then the Known Distance Presentation. We shot another AQT before breaking to head to the 100-yard range. Congratulations to Mike and Jonathon on requalifying! (Next time you're off the boat come back and see us Jonathon so we can put that orange hat to work.  ;) )

At the 100-yard range, shooters learned how far the .22 dropped and were able to adjust for it. We got everyone on paper and then shot the memorial volley at 100 yards. We closed out with one last story about Prudence Cumming Wright and how one person can make a difference.

Thank you to all the shooters for coming out! I hope to see all of you on the line again soon. Keep up the perfect practice. Remember, a Rifleman persists!

In Liberty,
Roswell
