Thank you Cindy and Kathy so much for all you have and will do for the cause

And a Huge Thank you to my admin person (tenderfoot) or as AK Panda would say Mrs. Boss and my two kids Blake & Tessa for helping out with check in paperwork and getting lunch setup and served in the nice warm club house
I can not live without them

More detail and photos to come

Bennington is  a FABULOUS facility for Appleseed! We may have been a small team but we have great heart! In the spirit of the weekend, there was much cooperation and mutual effort to make sure all had a great time, learn some marksmanship skills and get reminded of such an important history lesson! We were fortunate enough to have a shooter arive with bagpipes in hand to make the tribute truly amazing!

We had several shooters who never fired a shot before, show up to get what we had to give! I'm confident we'll see them again on the AS trail!

Many thanks go the Shoot Boss, Buzzworth, for making my first working event a positive experience! Also gratitude for all the behind the scene effort of Mrs. Boss!! Without her we would not have been able to do "our" part so well.

I would like to give a big thank you to our Shoot Boss "Buzzworth" for a great weekend.  And to our 2 RSO's AK Panda and Maestro, you all did a terrific job.  Thank you to Hale Mt. Rod and Gun for hosting this event.  Top notch facility.

I brought 5 people with me and was very happy that 1 of us walked away with a Rifleman's patch.  Mine will come soon.  I promise.  I couldn't be more proud of my wife and my 10 year old son.  My son "Sam" was a real trooper.  On the way home he asked me "when are we going back".  He just asked me again as I'm writing this "when are we going to another shoot".  I think I created a Patriot or should I say Buzzworth created a Patriot. Because with out his passion for history and the love of our liberties, I don't think this weekend would have turned out the way it did.

My wife "Janet" to me was the star.  Up till a month ago she had never fired a rifle before in her life. I gave her about 2 hrs of instruction over the past couple of weeks to try to get her familiar with her 10/22.  She probably put a total of 50 shots down range.  That's it!  I new Appleseed could and would teach her to shoot.  And I'm not embarrassed to say this.  As a matter of fact I told a least 10 people today that SHE KICKED MY ASS!!!!.  I'm so proud of her.
I think it really helps when a woman instructs another woman. Thank you Maestro.  I would love to see my wife become a IIT someday so she can help other woman learn to fire a shot.

I think Janet took some pictures.  I'll see if I can get her to post them soon.

Again thank you all for a great weekend.
-Ryan

Q and D version: work being the culprit, again, like Buzzworth:

I don't remember getting more for my paltry $70. Ever. Some one not long ago made the expession "It's ALL good!" Kinda famous. Well It WAS all good! The facilities, the training, the history, and especially, the people. Our Instructor and his assistants went out of their way to ensure a successful weekend for my daughter and me, and for that I wish to express deep gratitude. I kind of rushed into this, not having shot in about 20 years, and brought my 13 year daughter along, who had never fired a real rifle before. I had picked up a couple of Ruger 22s , but did not have or actually MAKE the time to get them sighted in at a range beforehand.

Bad move.

Buzzworth, AK PAnda and Maestro  moved in with a couple of loaner rifles and salvaged what ceratinly could have been a less than happy weekend. My daughter really summed it up quite well, when, asked how she was doing, said "Great, now that I don't suck!" [out of the mouths of babes!]

Well, I certainly learned a great deal, not the least of which being that my 59 year old eyeballs require the use of a scope! I'll be back, and will bring more of my brood. (Shucks, that means I need more Rugers!)

All the best, and thanks again, Bill D.

Buzzworth, AK Panda & Maestro,
Thank you all for a great weekend.
The entire event was well run and a lot of fun.
I especially appreciate the sincere celebration of our unique heritage and the expression of our responsability to maintain the  tradition of American Rifleman.

Buzzworth, thank you very much for letting me spend Sunday with Britney.  Now I have a new project.
