Title: Changing of the guard
Post by: Roswell on December 29, 2023, 02:28:33 PM
In 2015, I don't think we had deputies. For lack of a better term, I became the "Head of Promotions" in order to help my mentor DrJohn, who was the State Coordinator. We helped each other out and I can't begin to describe all the things that I learned from him. He retired in 2017, but even before then I knew he was headed out the door and grooming me to take that role.

In 2018, I sent a PM to Scuzzy to the effect of something like, "Georgia needs a state coordinator. I have pretty much been doing that for a while. Can you tell me what I need to do to make it official?"

I had somewhat of an idea of what I was getting into but had no idea I'd be in the role for 5 years. If you haven't guessed yet, I am stepping down as the Georgia State Coordinator. Project Appleseed teaches us to train our replacements and so it is with that that I am pleased to announce that one of my dear friends, and the Deputy State Coordinator, Upacreek has agreed to step up and become the NEW Georgia State Coordinator!

I will be staying on as Deputy State Coordinator and will be helping Carol get the hang of things and assisting her in any way that I can. She has a lot more bandwidth to go out and meet new ranges and the fire in her belly to do so. Something Georgia really needs right now. This will also allow me to spend more time with my daughter and focus on doing the National Newsletter and mentoring.

So, please join me in giving Upacreek a big Huzzah!!!  :partytime:

Congratulations Upacreek. Thanks for taking a bigger bucket to bail with.

And thanks to Roswell for the work you have done for Georgia, and for staying on as deputy.

Thanks for the challenge, Roswell.  You're the only GA state coordinator I've known and I've learned a bunch from you.  I'm glad you've agreed to keep helping, although I'd have hit you up with questions anyway  ;D Way to hand it off too with a potential KD range and a couple new 25m ranges! I can't wait.

MattNH, I'm headed your way in a couple weeks.

I'm stopping at the North Bridge again to pilfer some more questionable water to douse people with.  Anyone down south need some, let me know.  My car will be much lighter on the return trip and I'll have plenty of room.
