Persistence was key this weekend as we welcomed a full line of shooters to the WCW Shooting Sports range for a cold and wet weekend together celebrating the way of the Rifleman. Saturday's Winterseed chill took its toll on both the shooter's rifles and fingertips, and a smaller group returned on Sunday. Fortunately (or unfortunately for those eyeing a Winterseed patch), Sunday warmed up quite a bit and six shooters proved their persistence paid off and qualified on Sunday's AQTs! Congratulations to Lauren (215), Sam (221), Andrew (224, 1st event), Keven (213, 1st event), Nick (211), and Amy (219)! Isabella had never shot prone until this event and by the end of the weekend was consistently shooting 6MOA groups all the way out to 100 yards!
Shooters – thank you again for spending your weekend with us, and a huge thank you to WCW Shooting Sports for the use of their range and their steadfast support of shooting sports and their local community. Remember, all the fundamentals learned this weekend apply to distances far beyond 25m and to other marksmanship activities. I hope to see you back at our 200m Known Distance event at WCW in March! Until then, remember to practice all of this at home using dryfire (with no live ammunition in the room with you!)
Another great weekend in the books! Even with the cold we saw everyone persist. Equipment issues happen, we learn and adjust our systems until they are as fine tuned as the riflemen running them. I hope to see you all on the line again sometime!
Congratulations to all of the new and returning Riflemen and Riflewomen! O0
Thank you WCW Shooting Sports and all of the volunteers! Happy Holidays and have a safe and happy New Year!
