What a great Appleseed.

We were sold out, so it was a big group but boy did they work hard. The weather was beautiful. The range facility was first rate and a great place to work an event. Instructors could not have been better or more cooperative.

The experience of the group spanned from beginner to proficient, with ages from 8 to 64. A big thank you to Fenix and her translating ability for helping one shooter who did not speak much English. On Saturday morning, after shooting the Red Coat target, we started on the basics. The group worked very hard. Our most inexperienced shooters, who couldn't hit many shots on the Red Coat target in the morning improved greatly by afternoon.

Sunday went well, everyone was very dedicated. All shooters should feel good about the improvements in their performance. We shot 6 AQT's on Sunday and had some shooters double and one even tripled their score from their first to their last AQT.

Congratulations to our new Rifleman Patrick who scored 211. Great job!

A big thank you to the great crew of instructors. Everyone work very hard and the teamwork was amazing. Thank you for making me look good.

Thanks to all.

This was a great weekend with an awesome group of patriots that came prepared to learn of the sacrifices our founders made for us. While we had them there we thought we may as well teach them some rifle marksmanship skills, so Miss Conduct and her fantastic instructors got to work. The morning was filled with equipment adjustments that soon paid off. We shared more of our amazing founding history and then gave them all an opportunity to show their skills with properly fitted rifles. Results were clear, improved hits on paper by most shooters. Fenix did an outstanding job translating while providing everything the shooter needed to keep pace. We really need to get that girl an orange hat.
It was a pleasure to work with such skilled instructors and an honor to present Miss Conduct her well deserved Green Hat. She is a great leader and a fantastic mentor. Appleseed is lucky to have such talent, south Florida is in good hands.
Did anyone know it's still summer time down there?

A big thank you to the instructors â€" each and every one was a total pro and a pleasure to work with. Honorable mention to Mike/Not-Sure, who coached me to success, and bailed me out of some mechanical trouble. And extra kudos to new Shoot Boss Miss Conduct, who did a fantastic job running the show. Just a terrific bunch of volunteers!

A 20-slot sold out event with only one no-show meant it was going to be a busy two days.  The shooters were great and worked hard, showing great improvement throughout the weekend.  We started off with 0 cleared redcoats on Saturday morning.  By the end of the event, three different shooters cleared Redcoats and a fourth was less than 1/16" from turning in a another cleared target.  One thing that made this event stand out to me was seeing some different rifles on the line.  We typically see 10/22s and ARs.  Seeing shooters test their skills with a Grand and a Mini 14 was definitely special.

Patrick, It was great working with you and Alexander.  You both worked really hard and showed great improvement.  I'm really happy we got you over the hurdle.  Alexander is not far off.

Here are a bunch of pictures for our shooters to enjoy and hopefully study the positions to identify points for improvemnt before coming back for the coveted patch.  A second batch of pics will follow shortly.

Shooters, thank you for all of your efforts.  Hopefully, we'll see you next time collecting some Rifleman patches!
